Kevin John outdoors with mountains behind him

Kevin John

Hi! My name is Kevin and you might know me as the music guy around Kaslo. But you might not know that I studied "Yoga, Ayurveda, Mantra and Meditation" at the American Vedic Institute. I am very excited to begin my yoga teaching journey at Ananda Yoga alongside these other excellent teachers and human beings.

I believe in a holistic approach to yoga for tuning and unifying mind, body, and spirit. It is important to me to share this ancient and profound tool in a way that honours the rich tradition behind it, while being easily approachable to everyone. My classes will focus on accessible asanas, pranayama, and meditation. I hope you’ll leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and inspired!

Also, keep your eye out for our regular Kirtan!

Allison Kane

I grew up in Ottawa practising gymnastics and dance/Capoeira as a child and teen. I love expression through movement and body. Realizing early on the sweet gift it brings to the mind/body/heart. Presence! When yoga became popular it was easy to dive right into training in various styles and forms of yoga. I have trained in Hatha yoga, different Kreyia techniques through the Art of Living Foundation, Thai Massage, Vipassana and have an undergraduate in Comparative Religion.

I love the practise and study of yoga; all of the different variations humans continue to create with it.

The last thing to mention is my passion for Kirtan/Satsung/Mantra. I have sung and lead Kirtan for 20 years from coast to coast in Canada.

The ancient language of Sanskrit is something I look forward to studying more of. I welcome you to my yoga class to continue these explorations side by side. Namaste.
